To all the men and women in the occupied countries of World War II who helped Allied airmen escape or evade capture. Otherwise ordinary people responded to oppression and evil by risking capture, torture and death to save strangers cast among them by the fortunes of war. They were "Helpers". They were, and are, heroes. This work is particularly dedicated to the many brave Norwegians of Os and Bergen who saved 6 young Canadians in September, 1944. Thank you.
