After the tea and the snacks, the ceremonies, the speeches, the flags and the thanks, people lingered in the place once, and perhaps forever, called Little Canada, a place for memory and reflection, for gratitude and inspiration. A place that brings back memories of those who, in a much simpler time, knew right from wrong and simply did what had to be done, regardless of the cost to themselves and their friends and families.
Many took the path to Rolfsvåg, stopping for a few last photos, with more than a few backward glances along the way.
It is a hard place to leave.
