Saturday morning, a little more formal, a little more emotional, but an event for four generations to commemorate acts of selflessness and courage 75 years earlier.
What will be remembereed of this field in another 75 years? The skill of a pilot who landed a crippled pane on a small hillside? The courage of a small group of the Milorg who rescued six young Canadians and returned them safely to the Shetlands? Or will it give way to houses that cover its green grasses with concrete and asphalt? Perhaps it will be left alone with its memories of ripening hay, and once, long ago, of six sacks of potatoes.
