After the war, the Crew learned more details of the remarkable events of September and October of 1944. Members of the Resistance, starting with Kjell Harmens, attempted to contact the crew members that they had known for only.a few days in 1944. In most cases, the crew did not know the real names of the helpers, and the helpers had little information about the crew members.
However, over the years the names and other details of the rescue became more commonly known, and information was exchanged. The helpers, their families and the people of Os and the surrounding region, whether involved in the rescue or not, commemorated the events of those days. Today, the children and grandchildren of the Crew and the helpers continue to commemorate those events and those who took part in them.
These are some of those post-war events and commemorations.
